Rain Rain
Rain rain
falls on the street,
mud in puddles
cleaning my feet.
Thunder thunder
rumble and roar,
close the windows
and lock the door.
Clouds clouds
black and gray,
heavy with water
to drop all day.
Sun sun
is breaking through,
clouds are moving,
the rain stops too.
Rainbow rainbow
across the sky,
see-through colours
to tickle my eyes.
-James Hörner
Raindrops
Raindrops are such funny things.
They haven't feet or haven't wings.
Yet they sail throughout he air
With the greatest of ease,
And dance on the street
Wherever they please
Let's Count the Raindrops
Let's count the raindrops
as they pour:
one million, two million,
three million, four.
-Alan Benjamin
Rhyme
I like to see a thunder storm,
A dunder storm,
A blunder storm,
I like to see it, black and slow,
Come stumbling down the hills.
I like to hear a thunder storm,
A plunder storm,
A wonder storm,
Roar loudly at our little house
And shake the window sills!

Look! There's a giant stretching in the sky,
A thousand white-maned horses flying by,
A house, a mother mountain with her hills,
A lazy lady posing in her frills,
cotton floating from a thousand bales,
And a white ship with white sails.
See the old witch fumbling with her shawl,
White towers piling on a castle wall,
the bits of soft that break and fall away,
Airborne mushrooms with undersides of gray -
Above, a white doe races with her fawn
On the white grass of a celestial lawn.
Lift up your lovely heads and look
As wind turns clouds into a picture book.

RIDDLES
What goes up when the rain comes down?
Umbrella
I can be very strong
But other times I’m just a breeze
Although you can’t see me
You can see me blow about trees
Wind
When water evaporates, water vapor forms.
Then clouds form.
When the water droplets get too heavy,
I fall from the clouds.
What am I?
Rain
I happen after a flash
But I’m not a photograph
You hear me in a bad storm
I am lightning’s other half
Thunder
This is something you see in the sky
You’ll need more hints though so I’ll explain
It’s sometimes fluffy and sometimes gray
And can release snow, hail or rain
Clouds

Weather
One day the sun was shining bright (hold up right hand for the sun)
But some clouds came along and it became black as night (Hold up left hand for the clouds)
Then the rain began to sprinkle onto the ground (wiggle fingers for the rain coming down)
And soon it was raining all over the town. But when the clouds had passed on by (move both hands to the right)
A big beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky. (have your left hand make a rainbow arc over your head)
I See the Wind
I see the wind when the leaves dance by (dance hands around)
I see the wind when the clothes wave, "Hi!" (wave hand)
I see the wind when the trees bend low (bend arms over and down)
I see the wind when the flags all blow (wave arms high)
I see the wind when the kites fly high (raise arms high)
I see the wind when the clouds float by (wave hand gently)
I see the wind when it blows my hair (lift hair with hands)
I see the wind 'most everywhere (hold hands out, palms up)
Noisy Wind
I like the noisy wind
I like the noisy wind
It roars and mutters (voice loud, then softer)
And shakes and shutters (shake hands tambourine style)
I like the noisy wind
I like the noisy wind
I like the noisy wind
It flaps the flag (flap your arms back and forth)
And rustles my bag (rub hands together briskly)
I like the noisy wind
Snow
Snow on my forehead, (touch forehead)
Snow on my knee, (touch knee)
Snow on my glasses, (touch eyes)
Getting hard to see.
Snow on my boots, (touch shoes)
Snow on my hair, (touch hair)
Snow on my mittens, (touch hands)
Snow everywhere. (Wave hands all over)
The big round sun
The big round sun in a springtime sky (circle with arms)
Winked at a cloud that was passing by (Wind eye)
The little cloud laughed as it scattered rain, (flutter fingers downward)
Then out came the big round sun again. (Circle with arms)
